Nike and De La Soul collaborated awhile back for an exclusive sneaker and our friends at The W3st reveal that Nike and De La might possibly be collaborating again with a design based off the famed “2001AOI: Bionix” album cover. Check em out here. I’m assuming these are 1 of 1’s.

When I see the stars
Upon the midnight blue
Across silvery trails
Dreamy paths I pursue

As love leads me on
I am guiding to dreams
Embracing the night
In view of moonbeams

The moon is glowing
I see stars shine bright
Love and light shone
Where dreamers unite

Here upon the shore
We gazed face to face
In moonlight serenity
Dream lovers embrace

Michael Jackson Slips Back Home to Gary September 12, 2008

Michael JacksonWhile it may seem that Michael Jackson lives in his own little world and has forgotten who he once was, apparently that isn’t the case.

Bill Zwecker of the Chicago Sun-Timesreports that Wacko Jacko and his brood stayed in the Windy City one night then headed to Michael’s  hometown of Gary, Ind.:

It’s all very mysterious, but I’ve learned Michael Jackson — joined by a small (for him) retinue of bodyguards and assistants, plus his three children, Paris, Prince and Prince Michael II — slipped into town Monday for a quick overnight stay.

A BZ spy at Jackson’s exclusive Gold Coast hotel reports that the entourage ”did not venture out of their suites and only ordered basics like setups, hot water, milk and juice from room service.”

Apparently, the King of Pop traveled with his own organic food, plus bed linens and towels.

Unlike other visits by Jackson and his kids to various cities around the world, there wasn’t even any shopping on this trip.

According to the source, Jackson & Co. left early Tuesday — ”before the sun was up” — and reportedly drove (via several SUVs with blacked-out windows) to Gary. There MJ and his kids supposedly toured his childhood neighborhood in the northwest Indiana city before flying out of the area via private jet.

On another note, that wild rumor about Pamela Anderson hooking up with Mike is so untrue. As if you didn’t know. Pamela told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres earlier this week that the two have a professional relationship and that Michael wants her to appear in one of his upcoming videos. Now that I believe.

Ne-Yo

With Ne-Yo’s third solo album, “Year of the Gentleman,” set to drop Tuesday, there just isn’t enough of him to go around as party goers recently found out.

Page Six reports:

SOME nightlife promoters are so desperate to fill their parties, they’ll even put a fake performer onstage. On a recent Sunday night, the promoter group Party at NYC rented out the club Mansion, on West 28th Street, and sold tickets to a Ne-Yo concert. Too bad the rapper already had a gig and was around the corner, hosting a party at Guest House, on West 27th. One source told us tickets to the fake Ne-Yo concert “were sold for $20 in advance and $35 for VIP seats.” At about 1:30 a.m., the promoters “said Ne-Yo is in traffic and will be here in 45 minutes. Then, 20 minutes later, the audience was told Ne-Yo was there. Then they put a fake Ne-Yo onstage, but it didn’t work, so they finally said Ne-Yo was stuck in the Gulf of Mexico.” A rep for the performer told Page Six, “Ne-Yo was never confirmed to perform at club Mansion that weekend, and there was never a performance scheduled or any contracts signed for Ne-Yo to appear.”

The long history between T.I. and the mother of two of his children may count for something, but, hey, it isn’t putting food on the table. The baby mama is suing the rapper for more child support, saying she can’t support the boys off of the $2,000 a month he currently provides.

The Associated Press reports:

Lashon Dixon, 29, and T.I., 27, have known each other since they were teenagers and dated before he reached rap megastar status. Their boys are ages 7 and 8.  Dixon said she wants a court to order a stipend that is equal to the rapper’s success.

Tiny, mother of T.I.’s other two children, might have to pawn that reported $6 million rock he gave her.

America’s favorite rapper makes a special appearance on Shade 45

Rap star Eminem will be interviewed by his own Sirius radio station, Shade 45, to discuss the 20th anniversary of indie record label Delicious Vinyl.

The rapper, who’s been most known the last few years for being underneath the radar, will be joined by Delicious Vinyl’s co-founder Mike Ross. The Los Angeles based label, founded in 1987, is most known for signing legendary West Coast artists The Pharcyde and Masta Ace, whom Eminem has touted for years as being one of his greatest influences.

In VIBE’s September Juice issue, Eminem spoke sincerely about his own overall impact. “There were others before me,” he said, “but in a sense, I blew the door open for people of other nationalities to actually do this.”

Although a specific reason was not given, BET’s head of  entertainment, Reginald Hudlin, who boosted original programming at the channel known for music videos and reruns, is leaving the company. Hudlin is returning to his “entrepreneurial roots” as an independent producer, according to an internal memo Thursday from BET Chairwoman and CEO Debra Lee that was released publicly by BET. Stephen Hill, VP of music programming and talent, will hold down Hudlin’s old post until a replacement is found,  Lee said. Hudlin has held the position for the last since 2005.

*Actor James Lesure, recently added to the cast of NBC’s “Lipstick Jungle,” showed off his sense of style at an eco-friendly runway show during NY’s Fashion Week. The TV star sported a recycled wool blazer by Sean John and a gray T shirt by Edun. Lesure, best known for his role on NBC’s “Las Vegas,” says living a green lifestyle “means taking care of this planet like it was my home, my neighborhood. I consider this planet one big neighborhood.  I want to live in a great, beautiful, healthy neighborhood. It’s all connected to me.”

*In the October issue of Essence magazine, actress and radio personality Mo’Nique shares a painful sexual abuse secret that she has kept hidden for 25 years. ”I’m not excited to talk about this, but I’ve had a lot of men because I wanted to feel protected. I wanted to know that abuse would never happen again,” Mo’Nique says in the article titled “Free at Last.”

*Diddy has recorded a video response to reports that the jet he claimed to own in a previous blog rant about high gas prices was not entirely his.  Addressing the Palm Beach Post reporter who was unable to find any jet registered in Diddy’s name – or the name of his various companies – the mogul jokes that he does indeed own a jet and it’s registered under his latest moniker “Ciroc Obama,” but he can only afford to own one wing of the plane.       *The New York Post’s Page Six says one of its spies caught actor Ving Rhames using new millennium tactics to get a woman’s phone number recently. “He was chatting up a blond when he suddenly grabbed her phone and called himself from it, just to get her digits,” said the spy at Brother Jimmy’s BBQ opening party at the El San Juan hotel.

BRAXTON EXPLAINS WHY SHE’S ‘DANCING’: Singer was diagnosed with heart disease in 2003 and had a health scare in April September 12, 2008

News of Toni Braxton signing on for ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” caused some concern among fans who are worried about her health, but the singer says she is determined to overcome the fears and anxiety that go along with her illness.

“To be honest, I am a little nervous. Just because when I perform, the adrenaline gets pumping. I am a little nervous how my heart is going to feel,” Braxton said on Access Hollywood . And second, am I going to remember my steps because I am so worried about my heart?”

Braxton was diagnosed with the heart disease pericarditis five years ago, and had a health scare last April that forced her Las Vegas show “Revealed” to close early. Participating in “Dancing with the Stars,” she believes, will help her to conquer the apprehension of performing everyday activities – such as climbing stairs – without worrying that she’ll experience tightness in her chest. Still, she intends to remain cautious.

“I am not thinking about my blood pressure although my doctor has been on me to check it during rehearsals, so I have to stop and check it,” she added.

As far as the competition goes, Toni said she’s not looking for any sympathy votes.

“I’m competing with myself because I don’t want to be the victim because people will be like, ‘Toni has heart disease, oh she is a victim,’” she added.
