Michelle Obama has been selected by People magazine as one of the year’s best dressed women, alongside such celebrities as Fergie, Rihanna and Gwyneth Paltrow.
“She has a look. She works it with confidence, and she knows what looks good on her,” said People’s Style Editor Clarissa Cruz, adding that the potential First Lady was singled out for a style that was “classic and confident.”
The potential First Lady said some of her favorite summer dresses are actually from stores at the mall – such as The Gap and H&M.
Also making the list are Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Eva Mendes, Sarah Jessica Parker and supermodel Heidi Klum.
Editors of People’s Best & Worst Dressed 2008 issue, due on newsstands Friday, explored the fashion choices of Republican vice presidential nominee Gov. Sarah Palin, who fancies rimless glasses, step-toe pumps and an updo hairstyle.
Palin didn’t talk to People, but her hairdresser told editors that the candidate would rather not discuss style choices “because she wants people to hear what she has to say.”
