Rapper Soulja Boy, the teen behind the song “Crank That Soulja Boy” and its dance craze, actually gave a shout out to “slave masters” during a recent exchange on BET.
Network personality Toure blogged about interviewing the 18-year-old rapper on BET’s “The Black Carpet.” He said the artist appeared to be taken off guard when asked which historical figure he hates most.
Toure said he tried to help him out by mentioning some previous answers, which included Hitler, Bin Laden, and slave masters.
Soulja Boy, according to Toure, responded: “Oh wait! Hold up! Shout out to the slave masters! Without them we’d still be in Africa. We wouldn’t be here to get this ice and tattoos.”
